Welcome! đ
Iâm so glad youâre here. Iâm Morganne, a woman in my early-30s living in Portland with a love for sunshine, spreadsheets, and a good bookshelf.
As a marketer-turned-data-analyst with 10+ years experience getting people to buy things online, and a more recent foray into âdoing the work,â Iâm here to explore how the concept of consumption relates to self-aware thinking and decision-making.
In a post-pandemic world where we are threatened and polarized by so muchâclimate change, racism, womenâs rights, algorithms and AI, mental health issues, the list goes onâitâs more important than ever to understand our own thinking.
We often assume we know ourselves, but do we really? Are we making conscious choices?
We consume things on a daily basis, from the food we ingest, to the content we digest. From the clothes we put on, to the music we turn off, we are constantly consuming.
What drives us to consume the things we do? Are we aware of what influences us? What does this tell us about our own self-awareness and the relationship between our conscious and unconscious minds? And ultimately, how does what we consume inform the way we think?
My hope is that by exploring these themes through my own personal experiences and interests, it may spawn the curiosity within others to look within themselves. For I believe that when we understand our own thinking, we may be able to better understand those around us.
Look forward to a new post every Sunday!
âUntil you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.â
